Ett mail till Long now foundation

För att fortsätta på temat handling så mailade jag precis Long now foundation, vilket jag tänkt göra i sisådär 5 år. Nu blev det gjort.
Hi Alexander, Nick,
My name is Einar Persson. I’m a teacher, engineer, entrepreneur and strategist living in Stockholm, Sweden.
I have for years thought about the need for introducing long term thinking to a wider audience of people here in Sweden (and the Nordics in general). I think it is absolutely crucial to get more both stakeholders and people in general on board on this way of thinking.
The label itself has the ability to raise big questions in a way that speaks to people from different political camps in a time where a conversation of a unified vision of the future is more important than ever. Secondly, looking at the grand scale of things (time and space) induces humility (as well as ambition), which in my opinion are necessary in tackling the great and complex challenges facing humanity.
I’m reaching out to you today, because I’m tired of not acting on this. It has been a personal interest for a long time and I want to go forward with this in some way, on my own or in a collaboration.
Would anyone at Long Now Foundation be interested in starting a conversation about how long term thinking could reach more people internationally, starting here in Sweden?
Perhaps a local chapter, leveraging and localizing produced content, or producing original local content, scanning for long term projects in the Nordics. Or some other way of supporting a local effort. I think that sparking a conversation “closer to home” in the native langauge is important if you want to reach outside the niché audience.
I think there are a variety of approaches to explore and I would be more than happy to contribute to this cause. Have a nice weekend, and Best regards,
Einar
